Your Refuge at Tampa Bay
We look to be up and running as of the end of the year. So much has to take place before we can begin to support and help out in the Tampa Bay area. We are currently completing all necessary paperwork required state wide and federally to facilitate all the endeavors we hope to accomplish. Please keep checking back as we are currently also putting together our website giving detail and explaining everything that we will be doing. As of April 29,2011 we have received our 501c3 status as a "public charity", therefore all donations accepted are tax deductible.
Our Mission Statement
Your Refuge at Tampa Bay, with community support, provides a secure, accepting, stable enviroment for young men and women (up to age 25) who are physically, emotionally or mentally adrift and have nowhere else to turn. We assist them in securing employment, completing their education, if necessary, and guide, as well as educate them, in monetary management. This collaborative process empowers the individual and help them become self-sufficient thereby enhancing self-esteem. At the completion of their stay, all monies deposited by them are returned with interest. The vision is to have these individuals empowered to help themselves get ahead in life and to focus on the positive aspects of their lives.
The Vision
Recognizing that there is a critical, and long over-due, need in the Tampa, FL area for housing young homeless adults, Your Refuge at Tampa Bay is envisioned as a safe refuge for these homeless, often disenfranchised young adults, both male and female, between the ages of 18 and 25.
In this refuge each individual will receive the caring and respect that he or she deserves.
With your assistance, we hope to purchase or lease a building, such as an empty office building, where we are able to restrict access. The security and safety of our residents is paramount! Access to the residential area is to be strictly limited to the residents. Non-residents will be required to show identification and sign in and out. Non-resident access is to be limited to common recreational areas.
